The Tom Brady 2020 NFL futures betting market was halted by multiple sites Thursday as reports from the NFL Combine pointed to the quarterback’s departure from the New England Patriots 20 years after he was drafted by the team.
Jeff Darlington of ESPN told “Get Up” that “I’m now at the point where I would be stunned if Tom Brady went back to New England.” Meanwhile, veteran Patriots beat columnist Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald wrote that the Patriots haven’t reached out to Brady and that a source said “it’s not looking good.”

Boston-based DraftKings had Brady at -335 to stay in New England before taking down its odds. PointsBet had Brady at -333 and BetMGM had him at -304 to remain at 10 a.m. Thursday before they closed their markets. FanDuel and 888sport also shuttered Brady 2020 betting.
William Hill lowered its price on Brady staying to -270 as of 11 a.m., while Brady was +300 to take his first 2020 regular-season snap with the Chargers or Raiders, +800 to do with the Titans and +1800 to retire and/or not play.
Brady The Talk Of New England
Brady’s future has been the subject of nearly non-stop conjecture in New England among fans of the Patriots and NFL betting since before the 2019 season. He reportedly has purchased a home in Greenwich, Connecticut, and has had his family’s home in Brookline, Massachusetts, on the market since May.
The Patriots agreed not to franchise-tag Brady, who turns 43 in August, in his most-recent deal, allowing him to test the free-agency market this offseason.
A six-time Super Bowl-winning QB, Brady struggled during the 2019 season as the Patriots failed to find a reliable tight end to replace the retired Rob Gronkowski. Bill Belichick also burned through several mediocre wideouts trying to ignite the offense. New England signed Antonio Brown but released the combustible talent after he played in only one game.
The Patriots lost five of their final nine games and failed to defend their Super Bowl crown, bowing to the Tennessee Titans in a Wild Card playoff game at Gillette Stadium. It marked the first time since January 2011 that Brady and Patriots failed to reach the AFC Championship game.
