Harry Redknapp will stay at Birmingham if funds are made available
Harry Redknapp arrived at St Andrews with just a handful of games to preserve Birmingham’s Championship status, with the experienced manager engineering a 1-0 win at Bristol City on Sunday and many supporters now hope that he remains in place at the Midlands club.
Redknapp will have further talks with the club’s owners following Birmingham’s great escape, with the former Tottenham boss having replaced Gianfranco Zola to great effect, with the 70-year-old open to continuing at St Andrews although much depends on whether there are funds available for him to strengthen the squad and challenge for promotion.
Redknapp will certainly walk away if the ambitions are too modest, with Gary Rowett having started the current season in charge of Birmingham before being cruelly axed. Should Harry not be interested in the position, we can expect a lively betting market concerning the next Birmingham boss, with candidates such as Nigel Pearson and Alan Pardew likely to be interested.
