Ryan Lowe massive favourite to become next manager of Bury FC after Chris Lucketti axed at Gigg Lane
Ryan Lowe has taken temporary charge of the first team after Chris Lucketti was recently fired and the former striker could end up getting the job on a full-time basis.
Lowe was in the running to replace Lee Clark before Lucketti was given the role, with Bury currently sitting bottom of League One and they look like heading towards League Two unless the team of Ryan Lowe and Ryan Kidd can bring about a quick change in fortunes.
Ryan Lowe has drifted in the betting market to become the next Bury manager, with the current caretaker boss now 4/1 with BetVictor to replace Lee Clark. It appears as though someone with more experience could be appointed at Gigg Lane, with Steve Evans trading at 4/1 although the current Mansfield Town boss might stay put at his current club.
Simon Grayson is a 5/1 chance although might feel he’s beneath this role considering he’s previously been in charge of Leeds United, Preston and Sunderland. He will be ruing not staying at Deepdale after two solid seasons at the club.
Chris Lucketti is a 6/1 poke, with Dean Holden 10/1 and Alan Stubbs is trading at 12/1.
Lee Clark has had several bites of the cherry at being football manager and none of them have worked out particularly well. Bury FC parted company with the Geordie this week after a poor start to the season which threatens their League One status.
Clark was given the opportunity to sign a number of new players last summer, although results on the pitch have been poor, with Ryan Lowe now the favourite to take charge in an attempt to turn things round.
BetVictor go 1/2 about Lowe taking charge, with Nigel Adkins available at odds of 8/1 and Phil Neville is a 10/1 chance. Neville seems to have ambitions to manage at Bury is an obvious fit for the former Manchester United and Everton defender, with the ex-player having grown up in those parts.
Paul Scholes is a 10/1 poke and might also be interested, having previously applied for the Oldham Athletic role. Graham Westley would offer more experience and he’s a 12/1 chance, while Steve Evans and Alan Stubbs are also the same price.
Lowe is currently in caretaker charge at Gigg Lane and appears to command the respect of his players, meaning that Bury are likely to appoint from within, especially if results improve under the former striker.
Lowe returned to Gigg Lane from Crewe last January to take on a player-coach role and would jump at the chance to now become the permanent manager in the wake of Clark leaving the club.
