Next Cardiff City manager odds – Neil Warnock set to replace Paul Trollope

Rotherham's manager Neil Warnock during the Sky Bet Championship match at the Turf Moor, Burnley.

Neil Warnock is 1/10 to become the next manager of Cardiff City

It was little surprise to see Cardiff City take action and sack Paul Trollope this week, with the Bluebirds having endured a miserable start to the season and they have just eight points from eleven matches.

It appears as though Vincent Tan will be quick to hire a replacement, with Neil Warnock a 1/10 chance with Sky Bet to become the next Cardiff boss, with the experienced manager expected to be the safe pair of hands that the Welsh club require.

Warnock has previously steered Rotherham United out of trouble and he’s someone with a ridiculous amount of managerial experience, having enjoyed spells with Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and QPR amongst others.

If Warnock isn’t hired, then Ryan Giggs is expected to be the next most likely appointment, with Sky Bet offering 6/1 about the Welshman although it might be that the club prefer someone with experience of managing in the Championship.

Craig Bellamy is a 10/1 chance with Sky Bet and this is a former player with a strong affinity to the club although he’s another without the relevant experience and would resemble a major gamble.

Nigel Pearson is a 25/1 chance although still remains Derby County manager in an official capacity, with Steve McClaren available at 25/1 although it appears that Neil Warnock will be the go-to man for what is now looking like a rescue act for Cardiff City in the Championship.

All odds were correct at time of posting.
