Derek McInnes favourite to become next Rangers manager after Pedro Caixinha sacked at Ibrox
Derek McInnes is now trading at 1/4 to become the next Glasgow Rangers boss, with the Old Firm team continuing to target the Aberdeen manager who is clearly open to the possibility of swapping Pittodrie with Ibrox.
McInnes is now getting the Aberdeen supporters’ backs up, with the manager’s body language suggesting he is ready to leave the club although Graeme Murty could be the Plan B and he’s an 8/1 chance to come in as permanent boss.
It appears that Derek McInnes is likely to become the next Rangers manager, with William Hill now offering a best price 1/3 that the Aberdeen boss leaves his current post to take charge of the Gers. Ladbrokes are as short as 1/5 that this happens, with Gio van Bronckhorst next in the betting although it very much comes down to whether Rangers can get their man.
Derek McInnes continues to trade at odds-on for the Rangers manager’s job, although odds of 4/5 with BetVictor suggests that it’s not a done deal that the Aberdeen manager will leave his current post to go to Ibrox.
Graeme Murty is currently in caretaker charge and he’s the 4/1 second favourite to replace Caixinha, with Steve McClaren also at 4/1 and it would be interesting to see the former England coach go up against Brendan Rodgers north of the border.
Alan Pardew is a 10/1 chance but it seems to come down to whether the Gers can snare McInnes.
Derek McInnes appears to be closing on the Rangers manager job, with the Scot trading as short as 1/3 with Paddy Power although William Hill go 4/5 about the Aberdeen boss.
Michel Preud’homme is a 5/1 poke to become the next Gers boss and it appears that the Old Firm club are interested in hiring the Belgian although it’s McInnes who is in pole position.
Glasgow Rangers are searching for a new manager right now after parting company with Pedro Caixinha, with the Scottish Old Firm club unhappy with the way that the 2017/18 season was progressing under the Portuguese.
The search is now under way to find a successor and Derek McInnes has been punted into even money to take over at Ibrox, with the current manager of Aberdeen regarded as doing a great job at Pittodrie and perhaps he can be persuaded to take charge of the Gers in an attempt to bring the good times back.
Alex McLeish is an 4/1 chance with BetVictor and always seem reluctant to distance himself with vacant posts, particular ones such as the Rangers job which is a position he’s previously thrived in.
Meanwhile, Billy Davies is an 6/1 poke although the former Derby and Nottingham Forest manager hasn’t been seen in a dug-out for a long while and perhaps he can be passed over. That said, Davies has confirmed he would interested in speaking with the Scottish giant about the vacant role.
Next Rangers manager odds with BetVictor
Derek McInnes evens
Alex McLeish 4/1
Billy Davies 6/1
Graeme Murty 10/1
Frank de Boer 12/1
Kenny Miller 16/1
David Moyes might be interested in managing north of the border, although his previous experienced with Manchester United and Sunderland has significantly lowered his stock compared to previously doing well at Everton.
Kenny Miller is a 16/1 chance although perhaps this might come a little too soon for the former Gers striker, while Graeme Murty is 14/1 although it could be that Rangers look further afield to recruit their next manager.
Stuart McCall is a Rangers legend and the current Bradford City manager is 22/1 to replace Caixinha, while Alex Neil is a 16/1 poke although the Scot is doing well at Preston and might be loathe to return to Scotland at this juncture.
All odds were correct at time of posting.
