It looks as though Nigel Pearson will take Monday morning training as usual, despite reports suggesting that the Leicester City manager was sacked last night.
Confusion is surrounding the future of Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson following claims that the 51-year-old had been sacked on Sunday evening.
Indeed, the defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon included a somewhat bizarre incident at the King Power Stadium. Pearson was felled by Palace midfielder James McArthur and the Foxes gaffer appeared to grab the player by the throat prior to helping him to his feet. Pearson then proceeded to grab hold of his shirt, thus preventing him from returning to the pitch.
Either way, Leicester City have responded to the reports of Pearson’s sacking by denying such news and have confirmed that he will be in charge for the upcoming match against Arsenal on Tuesday evening at the Emirates.
The club’s official website stated, “Leicester City FC would like to clarify its position relative to its manager, Nigel Pearson.
“Contrary to media speculation on Sunday evening, Nigel remains the club’s First Team Manager. Reports to the contrary are inaccurate and without foundation.”
All odds were correct at time of posting.
