Paddy Power decide that Paul Lambert won’t keep the Potters in the top flight this season
Not for the first time, Paddy Power have paid out early and anyone who backed Stoke to be relegated this season have enjoyed some early winnings.
The Potters are currently stationed in the relegation zone ahead of Monday’s trip to Old Trafford where they’re expected to lose, although Stoke have more winnable home matches coming up against Huddersfield and Watford.
However, the appointment of Paul Lambert as the new City manager hasn’t impressed Paddy Power and they have paid out on Stoke to be relegated, with customers enjoying some early winnings.
It’s not the first time that this has happened, with Paddy Power doing this when Stoke were first promoted to the top flight before the Potters stayed afloat in the division.
It’s clear that Paddy like to have a bit of fun with a football club powered by bet365 money, although the joke could yet be on the Irish firm yet again, with Stoke confident they can get out of trouble.
Paddy Power go 15/8 that the Staffordshire club are relegated, with Swansea looking nailed-on at 2/9 while West Brom are a 5/6 chance to go down despite a 2-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.
Brighton are 9/5 following that defeat and are currently struggling for points, although Huddersfield could be a better shout at 15/8, with Newcastle and Southampton 3/1 and likely to do enough to stay in the division.
Bournemouth have drifted to 7/1 on the relegation market after Sunday’s win over Arsenal although all eyes will now be on whether Stoke can stay up despite that early pay-out.
