After striking deals with teams in other major sports leagues, PointsBet is joining the NFL ranks. The sportsbook on Thursday announced a sports betting deal with the Indianapolis Colts, becoming an official partner of the team.

PointsBet has already partnered with the Detroit Tigers in the MLB, Indiana Pacers and Denver Nuggets in the NBA, the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche and reached a deal with the University of Colorado in the NCAA.

“PointsBet is thrilled to partner with the Colts, aligning with this great organization and its hugely passionate fanbase,” Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO, said in a news release. “PointsBet is the only sportsbook to have partnerships in place with both the Pacers and now the Colts, and we’re extremely proud of that. Indiana is a fantastic sports state and one that we’ve prioritized — we look forward to continuing to serve Indiana sports bettors this season.”

The deal will allow PointsBet access to the team’s communication with its fanbase, including usage of Colts marks and logos, according to the news release. It also gives PointsBet direct association with the franchise’s brand across various digital assets.

PointsBet will also serve as the presenting sponsor of the “Official Colts Podcast,” which is circulated across the team’s digital assets. Additionally, PointsBet gains access to mobile push notifications for Colts regular season games prior to kickoff, access to Colts social media assets, advertisement opportunities and spots during the Colts Roundtable Live radio show.

To celebrate the partnership in Indiana, PointsBet said it will offer fans of NFL betting the best price in the market for all Colts games this season across both the pregame spread line and moneyline bet types, the news release said. It also has introduced its “Crowd Booster” promotion for Colts fans, resulting in favorable spreads for bettors to take advantage of.

Other recent deals between sportsbook operators and NFL teams include the New York Giants and DraftKings and Las Vegas Raiders and BetMGM, both announced last week. The Detroit Lions have teamed up with BetMGM and the Denver Broncos were the first NFL team to announce a sportsbook partnership, with FanDuel, and then added BetMGM and Betfred.

PointsBet Expansion

PointsBet’s recent partnership with the Colts continues its busy trend of striking deals in 2020. The company, which was founded in Australia, has also partnered with the NBA, PGA Tour and NBC Sports, in addition to the agreements it has come to with individual teams.

PointsBet launched in the U.S. sports betting market in January 2019 and is currently available in New Jersey, Indiana, Illinois and Iowa.

The sportsbook is the only one of its kind to offer PointsBetting, where bettors are either rewarded or penalized by how right or wrong their wager was. According to its website, unlike fixed odds, each point of difference from the spread or total becomes a multiplier of the original stake, resulting in the bettor winning or losing more based upon the outcome of their wager.
