Dave Chisnall looks a big price to beat Michael van Gerwen tonight
The 2015 Premier League hasn’t disappointed so far, with some historic averages being recorded and two points separating the bottom five in the table.
We’re fast-approaching Judgement Night where two players will be relegated and here are the bookies.com predictions for what is going to happen in Glasgow on Thursday night.
James Wade v Adrian Lewis
Something of a grudge match and Lewis looks a good bet at 6/4. He was trounced by Gary Anderson last week but actually played well, recording an average of 103 with some new darts.
Wade is typically hot and cold in the Premier League although he’s lost two of his last three matches and last week’s average was nothing special against Barney.
PREDICTION: Lewis 7 Wade 5
Peter Wright v Stephen Bunting
Wright dished out a 10-0 thrashing to Bunting in Minehead and should have the edge in front of a partisan Glasgow crowd. Snakebite has been under the weather in recent weeks but starting to show his class now.
Bunting comes into this game off the back of two victories, although we should note that the scouser is still a rookie at Premier League level and he might find the white-hot atmosphere a bit too much.
PREDICTION: Wright 7 Bunting 4
Raymond van Barneveld v Phil Taylor
Barney is rapidly losing interest and the Dutchman sits second bottom in the table ahead of his clash with the Power. Last week’s 88 average was the worst of the bunch when losing 7-3 to Wade.
Taylor should take full advantage and will be out to strengthen his top four claims after losing to MVG last week.
PREDICTION: Taylor 7 Barney 5
Gary Anderson v Kim Huybrechts
We’d normally swerve predicting a whitewash in the Premier League although Anderson could dish out a serious thrashing in front of thousands of Scottish supporters in Glasgow.
Huybrechts has acquitted himself well in this competition although he won’t have experienced an atmosphere like Thursday night and it could be a case of rabbit in the headlights.
PREDICTION: Anderson 7 Huybrechts 0
Michael van Gerwen v Dave Chisnall
Chizzy looks a big price to win against MVG, even if Mighty Mike has yet to taste defeat in the Premier League. It’s unlikely Van Gerwen will go unbeaten all the way through and he will be matched on the 180 front by the St Helens man.
Chisnall demolished Anderson a fortnight ago and his reverse to Bunting last week saw an unusually off-colour performance which could be easily corrected this evening.
PREDICTION: Chisnall 7 Van Gerwen 5
