Gary Anderson can storm to victory in front of a passionate Glasgow crowd
Gary Anderson doesn’t strike us as a wine drinker although he’s maturing nice like a vintage red in the world of darts.
The Flying Scotsman cast off his bridesmaid tag at Alexandra Palace in January to claim a first world title and he’s in the form of his life, with the 44-year-old wiping the floor with Adrian Lewis last week despite the latter averaging 104!
That 7-1 victory sets him up nicely for this homecoming of sorts, with Kim Huybrechts looking like a Belgian lamb available for a ready-made slaughter as the rookie struggles to acclimatise to Premier League Darts.
Mr H sits rock bottom in the table and his reverse against Peter Wright last week means that Kim is staring relegation squarely in the face.
Anderson was utterly ruthless against Lewis last week and a repeat performance could see the world champ go close to a whitewash, especially if he starts hitting those doubles from an early juncture.
We haven’t yet had a 7-0 in this year’s Premier League although Gary hit nearly 109 on his averages last week and something similar would mean that Betway’s 33/1 could be close to paying out.
Naturally, there is a fair chance that Huybrechts will nick a leg or two, although we’re happy to be canny and play the 7-0 , 7-1 and 7-2 at nice prices.
For the bolder punter, we would advise a big bet on the 8/13 available that Anderson clinches victory which seems like a very fair price
