Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods odds cut for 2018 Masters

We’re fast approaching the 2018 Masters, with Rory McIlroy favourite after winning Arnold Palmer Invitational

Rory McIlroy didn’t have a great 2017 based on his previous exploits, although the Northern Irishman announced himself with a bang last week when winning at Bay Hill.

McIlroy carded a final round 64 to claim a tournament victory, the first since 2016, with Rory winning by three shots and it was the perfect preparation for the 2018 Masters where he’ll hope to win a first Green Jacket.

McIlroy said: “It was awesome to feel the buzz of being somewhere around the lead going into the back nine and reeling off those four birdies in a row.

“I’ve missed it, I really have missed it, and to play the sort of golf that I played today under that pressure, I’m really proud of myself and just so happy to win.”

He added: “It’s ironic to think that the last time I won was when Arnie passed away. To be able to create my own little piece of history on the 18th green here was pretty special.

“I’m just so happy to be back in the winner’s circle again and win a tournament that has Arnold Palmer’s name on it, someone that means so much to us in the game of golf.”

The four-time Major winner is bet365’s 9/1 favourite to claim victory in Augusta, although he wasn’t the only player making a comeback, with Tiger Woods also finishing high on the leaderboard.

Many have written off Woods ever winning another major although bet365 have him as a 10/1 shot to claim victory in the 2018 Masters and the American will be excited about his game after showing glimpses of his old self.

Bet365 are currently paying five places for the Masters and many will be interested in backing Jordan Spieth who comes alive in this tournament every year and can currently be backed at 12/1.

All odds were correct at time of posting.
