Scunthorpe United look a great bet at 20/1 to build on last season’s flying finish and win League One

BETTING TIP: Scunthorpe e/w @ 20/1 with bet365

Sheffield United have taken their customary place at the head of the League One outright market, although the Blades have regularly flattered to deceive.

Indeed, in the past three seasons, United have finished no higher than fifth in the division and on that occasion they were beaten by Swindon in the play-offs.

Chris Wilder inherits the poisoned chalice this season although it promises to be a tougher task for the diehard Blade than the way he steered Northampton to the League Two title in May.

Charlton might take a while to acclimatise to life in this division after a horrendous relegation and Millwall have been tipped by many but might lack the quality to reign supreme.

However, one side at a bigger price that catches the eye is SCUNTHORPE UNITED. The Iron are not a fashionable club although they finished like a train in League One last term and have the credentials to finish in the top six this term.

Graham Alexander has previously achieved good things with Fleetwood and has a solid squad that includes Sam Mantom, Paddy Madden and Josh Morris.

Madden in particular is someone who can score regularly at this level and United’s final six matches of the season saw them claim a maximum haul on each occasion.

At odds of 20/1, we’re happy to take a punt on Scunny considering that no team in League One looks particularly strong and Burton Albion illustrated what could be achieved on a modest budget last time out.
