Jokanovic under pressure after Fulham lose at Huddersfield and they’re now bottom of the table
Fulham remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and Slavisa Jokanovic remains 4/5 favourite to win the infamous Sack Race.
We’re now well into November and all twenty top-flight managers remain in charge, although there are rumours that the Cottagers might part with their manager after a 1-0 defeat at Huddersfield followed by a 2-0 reverse at Anfield.
In fairness, the performance at Anfield was much improved and perhaps the board will stick with their man ahead of the next clash with Southampton which promises to be a pivotal one.
Fulham owner Shahid Khan has given Slavisa Jokanovic a vote of confidence recently and while that has often been regarded as a kiss of death, it appears that the American’s support for his employee is genuine.
Nevertheless, the Cottagers manager is now odds-on to win the Premier League Sack Race, with Jokanovic cutting a disgruntled figure on the touchline at the John Smith’s Stadium after Huddersfield claimed a 1-0 victory.
It leaves Fulham bottom of the table and their manager is now 4/5 with BetVictor to be the first Premier League manager to leave his post, with a trip to Anfield looming this weekend.
However, Mark Hughes could be a better bet at 2/1 with BetVictor considering that Southampton served up a dross performance at the Etihad Stadium, with Hughes and Jokanovic making things a two-horse race.
Jose Mourinho has been favourite on the Sack Race market this season although the Manchester United manager is now out to 12/1, with Neil Warnock 14/1 and Rafael Benitez is now a 20/1 shot.
All odds were correct at time of posting.
