Strictly Come Dancing is back and Kirsty Gallacher looks well priced at 10/1
The fifteen celebrities for 2015 Strictly Come Dancing have been unveiled and the bookies have wasted little time in pricing up the outright and next elimination market.
Peter Andre is unsurprisingly the market leader considering that his footwork already looks pretty nifty and he’s sure to get a ton of votes every week from an adoring female fanbase.
However, odds of 11/4 before he’s even set foot on the dancefloor seem a touch skinny and we’re happy to go in search of a bigger-priced contestant.
It’s worth noting that the previous two winners have both been female, with Caroline Flack and Abby Clancy having entered the competition with little professional dance experience.
The public clearly warm to an underdog who is open to big improvement and KIRSTY GALLACHER clearly fits the sort of profile required to win the competition.
We know that the Sky Sports News presenter is competitive and will be looking to produce her very best, with partner Brendan Cole a big positive considering the professional dance is a celebrity in his own right and will get the best from Kirsty.
Helen George and Georgia May Foote could also be popular with viewers, while Jamelia can also probably throw a move or two. However, her previous experience of dancing and singing counts against her.
Jay McGuiness is surprisingly short at 10/1 considering he’s a bag of nerves when it comes to the competition, with the others all priced at 20/1 or bigger.
The Next Elimination market only comes into play after the couples have enjoyed a dance next weekend, although the last few years have seen the likes of Gregg Wallace, Johnny Ball and Tony Jacklin depart the dancefloor first.
There are two celebrities who fit that particular profile, with Daniel O’Donnell probably the weakest dancer in the field and Coral go 5/1 about the Irishman exiting first.
The slight issue with backing O’Donnell is that he’s a popular singer who has a massive following among the housewives which could see Jeremy Vine vulnerable.
However, we’re sticking with the Irishman who looked distinctly leaden-footed in the group dance, with Christina hardly enamoured by her partner.
