Strictly Come Dancing week 6 tips – Risky rumba for Carol Kirkwood

Next elimination market says either Kirsty, Jamelia or Kirkwood will go, and it's the latter you should side with because of tricky dance for mature women.

Popular BBC Breakfast weather presenter Carol Kirkwood is well worth a bet to finally come unstuck on Strictly Come Dancing in week six, as she and professional partner Pasha Kovalev tackle the rumba.

This raunchy Latin dance is a case of ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ to borrow from Shakira. If Carol fails to master it, there will be low marks from the judges. This makes Kirkwood well worth a punt in the next to be eliminated market at best odds of 11/4 on offer with bet365.

Dance pro Pasha has previously recorded the joint highest score for a rumba routine with Chelsee Healey back in series nine, but his partner for that performance was in her early 20s. Carol is 53, however, and may not be as supple as a younger woman.

Indeed, all three high scores of 39 (Rachel Stevens and series eight winner Kara Tointon also achieved this) have come from female celebrities aged 30 and under.

Sky Sports News present Kirsty Gallacher remains a top-price 9/4 favourite with Ladbrokes to be axed next, despite a much-improved Viennese waltz routine last week. It’s the Charleston next for her and professional partner Brendan Cole – a dance that requires personality and character running right through it.

Jamelia, twice in the bottom two previously, clearly remains unpopular with the public, but could win them over with an energetic jive. Should that fail, she could alternatively be worth a wager at best odds of 3/1 with Sky Bet to get the boot next.

Leading outright winner contenders Jay McGuiness, evens with BetVictor to get his hands on the Glitter Ball Trophy, and Peter Andre (a top-price 6/1 with Betway) both tackle ballroom dances with the foxtrot and American smooth respectively.

A tasty three-way dance to be top female on Strictly is taking shape nicely with Call The Midwife actress Helen George a narrow favourite at best odds of 3/1 with Sky Bet. She’s just ahead of BBC Radio 3 and Proms presenter Katie Derham (top-price 10/3 with Coral) and Eastenders’ Kellie Bright (9/2 with Sky Bet).

BETTING TIP: Carol Kirkwood is next eliminated @ 11/4 with bet365.
