Swansea City v Liverpool betting tips – Swans can make their point

Swerve a short-priced Liverpool team to win at the Liberty Stadium

BETTING TIP: Draw @ 13/5 with Coral

Strangely, many people think that Liverpool simply need to turn up to beat Swansea on Monday night.

While it’s true that the Reds are the form horse in the Premier League in 2015, they were unable to break down Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup last weekend and not many teams go to the Liberty and win.

Garry Monk has done a sterling job since replacing Michael Laudrup and will enjoy going into this game as underdog, with the Swans having beaten Manchester United in their last home match.

City then won 1-0 at Turf Moor before running Tottenham close at White Hart Lane and bet365’s 16/5 about a Swansea win looks pretty meaty considering it was only a few months ago that Liverpool were tumbling to defeat in these sort of games.

The visitors’ improvement has been well-documented although Liverpool have lost five times on the road this term and their Europa League reverse against Besiktas demonstrated that there can still be a lack of cutting edge.

Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have been dud signings and that means a reliance on Daniel Sturridge to plunder goals until the summer when a decent forward will surely be acquired.

Liverpool are a best price 21/20 although they are not yet banker material despite their recent improvement and we should expect their Welsh opponents to cause their own problems.

Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jonjo Shelvey are in good form, with the latter particularly keen to make amends for a couple of howlers in this fixture last season.

There have only been two occasions all season where Swansea have lost back-to-back Premier League matches and that is why the draw is being backed in this quarter tonight.
