The five Premier League players who can win 2017/18 Golden Boot

Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus celebrates scoring his side's second goal of the game during the UEFA Champions League group F match at The Etihad Stadium, Manchester.

The bookmakers have narrowed down the Premier League Golden Boot list to five players who are trading at 10/1 or shorter

It often pays to stick with the obvious when betting on Premier League Top Goalscorer, with the winner of this market usually coming from one of the top clubs in England.

Harry Kane has won the Golden Boot for the past two seasons, with the bookies making the Tottenham goal machine the man to beat once again, although there are four viable contenders who could outscore the England captain and claim the spoils for themselves.

Kane is a bit special. Eight Premier League goals notched thus far, although Tottenham going deep in the Champions League could see the striker wrapped up in cotton wool later in the season. He’s also finding goals at Wembley hard to come by, having drawn blanks against Burnley, Chelsea, Swansea and Palace.

2. Sergio Aguero @ 9/2 with Unibet

One of the most prolific strikers in Premier League history and level on points with Kane despite a car crash in Amsterdam a few weeks ago. The Argentine is prone to rotation from Pep Guardiola but is clearly feeling the love from his manager right now.

3. Romelu Lukaku @ 6/1 with Unibet

Started brightly with a brace against West Ham and followed this up with another at Swansea, although the goals have dried up recently and it’s mainly down to negative tactics employed by Jose Mourinho. Home games against Newcastle and Brighton offer a chance to bounce back.

4. Gabriel Jesus @ 7/1 with BetVictor

Guardiola looks set to rotate Jesus with Aguero plenty of times, although the Brazilian has demonstrated he can make scoring cameo appearances such as the recent one against Arsenal. But can he really outscore his team-mate and everyone else in the Premier League?

5. Alvaro Morata @ 10/1 with bet365

Scored a fine winner against Manchester United and does boast an excellent scoring record throughout his career. Clearly the focal point of Chelsea’s attacking play and should run into the places even if he misses out on top prize.
