Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino look likely to bag the most goals for Liverpool FC this season

Daniel Sturridge is regularly “in a race to be fit” for Premier League games and we’re happy to oppose the England striker when it comes to the top Liverpool FC scorer market this season.

Sturridge is trading at a best priced 2/1 although you can back two of his team-mates at 6/1 which effectively gives you 5/2 about Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino finishing top of the pile instead.

It’s good to have two against the field in this kind of market, with injury potentially playing a part although it’s Sturridge who is the player most prone to picking up knocks.

Firmino is a 6/1 chance with bet365 and might play in a centre forward position for much of the campaign, with the Brazilian having found his feet in England last season and it’s clear that Jurgen Klopp loves the tricky player.

He could well be selected as a false nine in the opener against Arsenal and is sure to be sniffing out chances, while his team-mate Sadio Mane is also worthy of consideration.

BetVictor have 6/1 about the former Southampton man who is also prone to rampaging forward and Klopp won’t be expecting him to track back considering a protective two midfielders will sit in front of the defence.

Mane is lightning quick and demonstrated at St Mary’s that he’s a livewire, even if he had a period of a few months where no goals materialised.

Klopp can ensure the forward improves at Anfield and we’re happy to have him at 6/1 considering he’s been among the goals in pre-season.

Even though Liverpool aren’t involved in Europe this season, we can be sure that Sturridge might be used sparingly given his track record with injuries.

Divock Origi is another potentially big player in this market although he might be scrapping it out with Sturridge and Firmino for that sole striker role. The latter thus will get more game time by also dropping back into the attacking trident.
