Tottenham Hotspur set to finish above Chelsea this season, say bookies

Spurs now 2/1 to land a top four spot, with Chelsea 5/2 after a dismal start to campaign

Tottenham sit fifth in the Premier League table after a 3-1 win against Aston Villa, with goals from Moussa Dembele, Dele Alli and Harry Kane helping Spurs above West Ham and just five points off the summit.

The bookies now agree that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are likely to finish above Chelsea this season, with the north London side shortening to 2/1 (bet365) for a Champions League spot come the end of the campaign.

Paddy Power go as big as 5/2 that Spurs finish up in the top four, although Coral think that it’s a likelier prospect with their quote of 7/4 and that’s significantly shorter than the 3/1 now available with betfair that Chelsea wind up in the top four spots.

The top four betting market features Arsenal and Manchester City available at odds of 1/66 and 1/100 respectively, although the other spots look up for grabs at the moment, with Manchester United unconvincing at the moment although the Red Devils are no bigger than 1/5 to retain their Champions League status.

After that, it’s very much up for grabs and Liverpool have shortened to 6/4 with bet365, although Paddy Power offer 7/4 about Jurgen Klopp’s Reds and perhaps there has been an over-reaction to their 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge.

Everton will also consider themselves to be contenders after a 6-2 win against Sunderland and the Toffees are a 10/1 chance with bet365 to land a top four spot, while Southampton are 14/1 after a 2-0 win over Bournemouth which had Ronald Koeman purring afterwards.

On the outright market, Ladbrokes are one of the few firms that go even money about Manchester City, with Arsenal a 13/8 chance with bet365 to claim their first Premier League title in over ten years.

Manchester United are out to 10/1 and Liverpool are a 40/1 poke to win the title, with Tottenham the other possible contender and BetVictor have 125/1 available.
