When is the 2016 Cheltenham Festival?
The Cheltenham Festival will take place between Tuesday 15 March and Friday 18 March 2016, with the opening day of the meeting featuring the Supreme Novices’ Chase, the Arkle and the Champion Hurdle – won last year by the impressive Faugheen.

Key Races
Tuesday 15 March – Supreme Novices’ Chase, Arkle, Champion Hurdle
Wednesday 16 March – RSA Steeplechase, Queen Mother Champion Chase
Thursday 17 March – Ryanair Chase, World Hurdle
Friday 18 March – Triumph Hurdle, Gold Cup

The 2015 Cheltenham Festival opened in dramatic fashion when Douvan, Faugheen and Un De Sceaux all triumphed on the Tuesday to leave Willie Mullins on the verge of a famous four-timer. That looked in the bag when Annie Power stormed clear in the Mares’ Hurdle only for her to fall at the last, with Ruby Walsh cutting a disconsolate figure.
