Salah now as short as 4/1 to be Premier League top scorer, with Harry Kane unlikely to feature for first matches of season
Mohamed Salah had a brilliant first season back in the Premier League, with the Liverpool forward winning the Player of the Year award after scoring 32 goals for the Reds which helped them land a top four spot.
Salah was available at 150/1 to win the Golden Boot although the bookmakers aren’t taking any chances with the Egyptian’s price about top scoring in the top flight next term.
The money has been coming for the speedy forward who scored within seconds of making a cameo appearance against Manchester City in a pre-season friendly, with BetVictor the only bookie prepared to lay 6/1 about Salah top scoring.
One bookmaker goes as short as 4/1 that Salah wins the top scorer prize, with Harry Kane the market leader although the bookmakers have been prepared to take on the Tottenham striker.
While Kane landed the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup, he’s notorious for not scoring in August and it’s likely that the forward will be given an extended rest before appearing for Spurs.
Ladbrokes go 11/4 about Kane winning the prize, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang trading at 7/1 with the same firm and the Arsenal man should prosper for the Gunners after chipping in with a healthy ten goals in thirteen appearances last term.
