We’re backing Jelle Klaasen to stun Phil Taylor at Alexandra Palace tonight
There are three more Christmas crackers this evening, with the third round of the World Darts Championship reaching a conclusion. Each match looks an evenly matched one and we’re not sure a certain sixteen-time world champion should be such short odds.
19:00: Peter Wright v Dave Chisnall
We’re happy to side with Snakebite for this match, with the 45-year-old seemingly improving with age! He made short work of Ronnie Huybrechts and similarly disposed of a dangerous Keegan Brown in the previous round.
Chizzy is a massive scorer but this best of seven set format isn’t just about hitting 180’s and we think it will be Wright who holds his nerve to come out on top and set up a quarter final clash v Adrian Lewis.
BETTING TIP: Wright to win 4-2 @ 9/2 with bet365
20:30 Alan Norris v Mark Webster
Norris is playing like a man possessed and the unseeded Englishman has a great chance of reaching the quarter finals. He beat an off-colour Robert Thornton before knocking out Joe Murnan and seems to be loving the Ally Pally experience.
Webster beat Terry Jenkins at a canter, with the Welshman enjoying a new lease of life in the past few months and perhaps his experience will get him over the line in this match. However, it could be close.
BETTING TIP: Alan Norris Most 180’s @ 8/13 with Sky Bet
22:00 Phil Taylor v Jelle Klaasen
Jelle Klaasen is one of the most entertaining darts players on the circuit and gave Gary Anderson a massive scare last year before the Scot overturned his lead. The Dutchman won’t be afraid of meeting The Power in this clash and there are signs that Phil Taylor is vulnerable.
We’re happy to go for Klaasen with a 2.5 set handicap which means he needs to reach two sets before Taylor manages four.
BETTING TIP: Klaasen +2.5 sets @ 10/11 with William Hill
