The Houston Texans won four games in 2021, ranking dead-last in points scored and second-last in point allowed. Deshaun Watson is now gone, replaced a slew of first-round draft picks that will no doubt help the team in the future.

As for the present, every position is a need. It starts with the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Houston also owns No. 13 overall.

The first question for the Texans is where to begin. Houston is available around +25000 to win Super Bowl 57 on NFL futures markets. No team is less likely to win the championship.

Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson has revealed who he thinks the Houston Texans are most likely to choose with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Who Will The Texans Take In The NFL Draft?

Houston’s rebuild doesn’t begin with a single pick, or a single position. The Texans can focus on taking the best available player, and at No. 3, that’s quite a list.

Michigan edge rusher Aiden Hutchinson is likely to be taken in one the first two spots. Everyone else is on the table for the Texans.

Evan Neal , the tackle from Alabama, has been projected in many spots to be the No. 1/2 along with Hutchinson. If he’s available, Houston has another option to consider. From the Texans’ point of view, there is no wrong answer. Any player selected at No. 3 should immediately improve the team, regardless of where he lines up.

Travon Walker Odds To join The Houston Texans

The Texans have a lot of needs, but at least they mended fences with two-time Pro Bowl tackle Laremy Tunsil, bringing him back after he missed all but five games in 2021. Tytus Howard, a 2019 first-rounder, can handle the other OT spot. If there’s one position Houston doesn’t immediately need to address, it might be tackle.

Every competitive team needs at least one competent Edge rusher, and the Texans have none. They have just 60 QB pressures the last three years, an astonishingly bad number. It starts there for a defense that ranked 31st in yards allowed and 27th in points.

Aiden Hutchinson is almost surely gone at No. 1 or No. 2. Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux might be there when the Texans are up at No. 3, but his stock has risen to the point he might be gone. There is still one elite rusher out there – Georgia’s Travon Walker, who has all the tangibles but without the overwhelming stats. Still, the 6-foot-5, 270-pound Walker, who ran a 4.5 40 and is considered an elite run-stopper already, has the potential to be a star. It’s not a reach to take him at No. 3 if the other two Edges are off the board.
