It had been a very long time since the Detroit Lions won a playoff game. The fans who have been waiting for 30 years are apparently prepared to pay a pretty penny to witness the event first-hand.

Ticket prices for playoff games typically increase for the NFL, and all sports. But getting into Ford Field for the NFL Playoffs takes a different level of fandom.

Prices for available Lions playoff tickets are up over 200% compared to Lions regular season home games. That crushes the increase of playoffs vs. regular season jumps for the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, and Buffalo Bills games, the four teams hosting NFL Divisional Round games this weekend.

Football enthusiasts definitely will look at this hype for the Detroit Lions reflected on the NFL odds shown on ourbetting apps.

The NFL Wild Card Weekend matchup between the Lions and the Los Angeles Rams became the highest-priced Detroit game in history. It’s getting much, much higher for the Divisional Round.

Secondary-market sites such as StubHub and Ticketmaster for Sunday’s matchup between the Buccaneers and Lions have zero available seats for under $500. As of Thursday, the average cost of a single ticket on the secondary market was going for $605.67. The best seats are priced at over $10,000 apiece.

Compare that to the regular-season average of $193.88, and long-suffering Lions fans are paying an extra premium on seeing potential history.

By comparison, ticket prices are up 69.7% for the Ravens’ first playoff game of the season, Sunday evening against the Texans. They’re up 37.7% for the 49ers’ playoff opener against the Packers on Saturday night.

The Bills’ playoff game against the Chiefs is actually cheaper than the typical regular season game, perhaps due to the weather. Costs are down an average of $18.20, or 8.6%.
