Prop bets can be hard to find on the amateur side. Maybe you’ll find an over/under passing yards prop for either quarterback and a few more for the really big ones, but player props are largely an NFL betting thing. The College Football Playoff means more interest, more exposure and, most importantly, more prop bets. Way more.

The National Championship brings an opportunity to wager on every aspect of the game and provides a chance for informed bettors to cash in on all aspects of the upcoming Clemson-LSU showdown in New Orleans.

With so many wagers available, we’re going to break it down by team. First up, here are our five best Clemson prop bets for college football betting enthusiasts ahead of Monday’s National Championship at the Superdome.

Odds current as of publication, and you can compare CFP title game odds here.

Pick 1: Trevor Lawrence Under 57.5 rushing yards

Trevor Lawrence’s running ability is the reason Clemson is even in this game after he carried the Tigers past Ohio State in the semifinal thanks in part to that 67-yard touchdown run. But that hasn’t been a big portion of Clemson’s offense. Lawrence has run for 60 yards just two times in 29 career games, and LSU has been good against mobile quarterbacks this season. We don’t see the Tigers getting caught by surprise like OSU.

Pick 2: Travis Etienne over 44.5 receiving yards

LSU gave up 45 receiving yards to Texas A&M running back Isaiah Spiller just a few weeks back. They also allowed 44 from Alabama running back Najee Harris, and Travis Etienne is the best receiving threat of the three. He averaged 10.8 yards on 49 catches this season and should see some more action in that regard, especially as a check-down option when LSU’s defensive line gets pressure.

Pick 3: Tee Higgins under 87.5 receiving yards

LSU freshman cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. is a beast. He’d be legit on an NFL field tomorrow if the league allowed it. He figures to get much of the work against Tee Higgins, who briefly left the OSU game with mysterious symptoms before returning to finish with four catches for 33 yards. Higgins is a big-time player for sure, but we’re putting our money on Stingley with this bet.

Pick 4: Lawrence Over 2.5 passing TDs

He’s thrown three or more touchdown passes in eight of his last nine games, with the Buckeyes holding him to two passing and one rushing. We fully expect the Tigers to take shots early and often against an LSU secondary playing much better in recent months. But elite quarterbacks have had success against this Tigers defense – Tua Tagovailoa threw four touchdowns against LSU, as did Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger. Even Florida backup-turned-starter Kyle Trask threw four in Death Valley. Make it at least three for Lawrence in the Big Easy.

Pick 5: Justyn Ross to score first TD(+1200)

Worth a shot given the odds. He’s +100 to score a touchdown at any point, which we expect to see. Ross started slow this season but has seven touchdowns over his last nine games. He also has 18 receptions over the past three games and continues to find himself inside Lawrence’s circle of trust. We think +1200 is pretty solid value here, all things considered.
