Chicago Fire-Montreal Impact MLS Betting Pick: Back the Over
It is time again to give the good people a winning tip for this weekend’s round of MLS betting action.
We came up short with our play last weekend. Let’s rebound and get that back with a little handicap play with a road team from one of the Saturday affairs.
MLS Bet of the Week: Chicago vs. Montreal - Over 3 @ +115 with 888Sport
I was originally going to give out the +1 MLS odds with the Canadian side away from home, although the line has been moving up from its opening odds of -120. Now that it has inflated a few more bucks in the wrong direction, the juice is not worth your time.
Chicago has zero ability to put fear in your heart when you come to SeatGeek Stadium, which is evident by its one win from its past six MLS home games. Scoring has become an issue for the Fire of late, and it comes at the worst possible time with only nine games left before the MLS Playoffs kick into gear.
By the same token, however, Montreal isn’t exactly playing its best soccer at the moment either, and it gets even worse when you look at its recent road record. I won’t even start to talk about the 2-2 draw in the Canadian Championships, because my god, that was an ugly game against Canadian Premier League side York 9!
Road games are killing the Impact this season, and the Fire should be able to take advantage of it, especially with these two teams only separated by six points in the Eastern Conference standings. Montreal is holding on to a playoff position coming into this weekend, but Chicago is right there in contention and will be looking for three big points at home.
The Impact has figured out how to allow two goals away from home better than anyone in the league, and if you caught the match with Colorado last weekend you saw all you needed to know. Allowing six goals to Colorado is a disgrace of epic proportions, and who can forget when Montreal allowed seven to Sporting KC way early in this season?
Even if they get stuck on a 2-1 result, that will cause us no harm and we can live to see another day with that push on this total.
I expect we will see a fourth goal to cash our tickets outright, and the line is surely usable at +115 with 888Sport.
Even though Chicago has infamously gotten off to slow starts in the first half this season, we might just see a 1-1 halftime score in this contest while we just sit back and wait for more. The goals will come and the tickets will be cashed, so this soccer betting tip should help fans have a nice weekend.
