Happy Fourth of July! It is time to celebrate our Independence in the United States, but we can also enjoy a little midweek holiday MLS betting while we BBQ all day and take in the fireworks all night.
While we enjoy time with friends and family, we have three Major League Soccer matches taking place and I believe our winning bet will come from the match out west with the Colorado Rapids hosting the New England Revolution.
MLS Betting Pick of the Week: Rapids-Revolution Draw (+260)
It is safe to say that New England made a pretty big move by bringing in Bruce Arena to right the ship. The Brooklyn native has had quite a coaching career from his time in MLS as well as with the U.S. Men’s National Team.
Amazingly, since Arena took over in mid-May he has not lost an MLS match, even without his full complement of players. Some Revolution players are still away on International duty.
Four straight wins at home. 7 straight unbeaten overall. The guys are flying right now.— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) June 29, 2019

Speaking of turnarounds, Rapids interim manager Conor Casey has done a great job since taking over for Anthony Hudson. Colorado is still in the Western Conference basement with 19 points (tied with Sporting KC), but the Rapids have gone 5-0-2 in their past seven MLS matches, which has them looking towards a brighter future.
Casey, a scorer as a forward in his playing career, has come to Colorado and has gotten the defense to work together. We all remember how poorly Colorado was playing before firing Wallace because the Rapids couldn’t stop anyone from scoring at will. Having Tim Howard to work with making Casey’s transition a bit easier, as Howard is still recognized as a top-five keeper in MLS.
If you notice the MLS odds total for this match, we have a straight 3 listed. Anyone who loves stats without actually watching these games will push toward the Over. These two teams have combined to allow to 71 goals, but almost all of that happened before Arena and Casey took over.
I like this Under 3 Goals bet and I expect a 1-1 draw, which is why I also suggest the +0.5 handicap with the Revs in this spot at -110. Even though Colorado has won four straight at home and New England is infamous for fading in the second half of games lately, I see this as a tight match with neither able to find three points.
