Gold Cup Final 2019 Bet to Back: USA-Mexico Both Score
A trophy will be sitting along the sidelines for one team to claim, as we have arrived at the Finals of the 2019 Gold Cup!
Soldier Field in Chicago will welcome Mexico and the United States to contest the big event on Sunday, July 7, with a local 8 p.m. CT kickoff time in the Windy City.
Mexico vs. United States - Both Teams to Score (Yes) at -110 with 888Sport
Mexico, the favorites to win the tournament before the festivities got underway, now have one task left to perform to fulfill the line setters expectations. As you can see, I offered El Tri at +125 to win the 2019 Gold Cup with a futures bet on Mexico to win this thing.
Knowing that the United States would have to go through both Jamaica and Mexico to land their spot in the Gold Cup final match, I threw a flyer on Jamaica to possibly provide the upset of the tournament at +1400. A semifinals appearance was, at least, a respectable showing for Jamaica, but now the U.S has to get past Mexico to finish the job and they do have some good recent history stats against El Tri. The USMNT has a record of 4W - 5D and 1L against Mexico over their last 10 meetings, which includes friendlies.
Christian Pulisic has made everyone who has a bet on Mexico to win start to wonder how solid their ticket is right now. I get why, and it’s because Pulisic has made many a defender look stupid in short fashion, taking a simple first touch and creating space for himself all over the pitch throughout the tournament.
Columbus Crew GK Zac Steffen has definitely made Gregg Berhalter’s decision to give him the starting role for the USMNT a good one. Steffen has elevated his game and come up with some monster saves to keep the United States on pace.
Standard Liège GK Guillermo Ochoa has amassed over 100 Caps with Mexico, and he should be carrying confidence into the final match after a penalty shoot-out win over Costa Rica and a 120-minute clean sheet against Haiti in the semifinals.

That being said, the one thing that hasn’t happened in this event is these two facing each other on the same pitch, so who they have played and what they have done to get here is basically just bookkeeping. These two teams know each other extremely well, and I expect them both to score en route to that Over 2.5 that sits at +115 over at Sugarhouse as well.
