It's hard to believe that it is the final week of the 2019 regular season. And as always, Week 17 will be one of the most challenging DFS weeks of the year, with multiple teams out of playoff contention and others resting starters for a potential playoff run.

DFS players will need to recognize and understand which teams will be playing for something and which ones have nothing to play for on Sunday. And with 11 games in the afternoon slate, the number of potential lineups is enormous. Here’s ours:

Top DFS Team for Week 17

Pos. Player Matchup DraftKings
Price
QB Matt Ryan Falcons at Bucs $6,500
RB Alvin Kamara Saints at Panthers $7,800
RB Sony Michel Dolphins at Patriots $4,900
WR Julio Jones Falcons at Bucs $8,500
WR Tyrell Williams Raiders at Broncos $4,600
WR Brandin Cooks Rams at Cardinals $4,400
TE Dallas Goedert Eagles at Giants $4,900
FLEX Michael Gallup Cowboys vs. Redskins $5,400
D/ST Pittsburgh Steelers Steelers at Ravens $3,900

Note: Prices from DraftKings are based on a $50,000 salary cap for the week

Best Week 17 DFS QB

Falcons QB Matt Ryan ($6,500 DraftKings)

Matchup: Falcons at Buccaneers

While the Falcons aren’t in playoff contention, they are still committed to finishing the season strong. Quarterback Matt Ryan is someone who continues to be useful in DFS, averaging nearly 22 points per game over the last month. This week, the Falcons will take on the division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL.

Considering how many quarterbacks could be sitting in Week 17, Ryan is a moderately safe play at a reasonable price. He also has shown that he can have a high-ceiling, given that he has already scored more than 33 DFS points twice this season.

Best Week 17 DFS RB

Saints RB Alvin Kamara ($7,800 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Saints at Panthers

NFL Week 17 DFS Picks: Which QB-WR Combo You Need to Stack 1

Despite having one of the best records in the NFL, Week 17 is still important for the Saints. With a win and a 49ers loss (at Seattle), the Saints would be the No. 2 seed in the NFC. But if they were to lose, the Saints would be the No. 3 seed in the NFC and would have to play in the wild-card round, likely against the Minnesota Vikings.

That is why the Saints are expected to play all of their starters in Week 17, which will make Alvin Kamara a great play this week. Despite not having a spectacular season, Kamara is still one of the most dangerous running backs in the league, and he has a fantastic matchup ahead of him as the Saints will face the Panthers. Carolina has allowed the most points in the league to opposing running backs and can be exposed via the air. Look for Kamara to receive a full workload this week, and he should produce monster numbers once again.

Best Week 17 DFS WR

Falcons WR Julio Jones ($8,500 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Falcons at Buccaneers

If we are going to play Matt Ryan this week, we might as well stack him with his top receiver. While Michael Thomas, Chris Godwin and Mike Evans have all received more attention this season in the NFC South, Julio Jones continues to be one of the league's most consistent receivers. He's already eclipsed 1,300 receiving yards for the sixth straight season, and he will look to build on that number this week against the Buccaneers.

On the season, Tampa Bay has allowed the most fantasy points to opposing receivers, and they don't have many answers for a player of Jones' caliber. Jones has been red-hot over the last two weeks, catching 23 passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns. Given his ceiling and the upcoming opponent, Jones is the top-receiver to play in DFS for Week 17.

Best Week 17 DFS TE

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert ($4,900 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Eagles at Giants

NFL Week 17 DFS Picks: Which QB-WR Combo You Need to Stack 2

This feels like a “chalk” play, but Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is a must-play this week for a variety of reasons. The first being that he is starting to play better and has caught at least three passes in 10 straight games. He’s also coming off the biggest game of his career, snaring nine passes for 91 yards and a touchdown against Dallas in Week 16.

The Eagles will also be without Zach Ertz on Sunday, making the decision to start Goedert even easier. He's easily the most talented skill player that will be on the field for the Eagles, and it's clear that Carson Wentz already trusts him. Don't be surprised if Goedert sees double-digit targets for the second-straight week as the Eagles will likely lean on him to carry their passing attack in a must-win game in New York. Best Week 17 DFS FLEX

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup ($5,400 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Cowboys vs. Redskins

Last week, Michael Gallup was our pick for the best flex play of the week, and that proved to be a profitable decision. While he didn't score a touchdown, Gallup saw 11 targets and converted them into 98 receiving yards on five receptions.

With Amari Cooper banged up, Gallup has become the Cowboys' top target and one of Dak Prescott’s favorite weapons. On Sunday, he will face a Redskins defense that just allowed Daniel Jones to throw for 352 yards and five touchdowns in Washington. Considering Dallas will still need to win its game on Sunday to have any chance of making the playoffs, expect the Cowboys to come out throwing the ball against the Redskins’ shaky secondary. At just the price of $5,400, Gallup is a must-play this week in Dallas. Check out latest Cowboys vs Redskins betting odds.
