NFL Week 4 Survivor Pool: Rams Check All the Boxes vs Giants

NFL Survivor Pools have exploded in popularity, and at levels for all kinds of fans, from family pools to those with thousands of dollars in NFL betting cash prizes on the line.

The simple nature of it is a major draw: Survivor Pools entail picking one team to win each week, but never picking the same team twice.

It's not how much your team wins by in a Survivor Pool. Simply, it's about picking a winner and moving on — and sometimes saving the biggest NFL odds favorite for a future week.

Here is the pick for Week 4:

Los Angeles Rams

There were questions about the Rams going into the season. That’s because after advancing to the Super Bowl two seasons ago, they missed the playoffs altogether in 2019, and RB Todd Gurley was among several veterans jettisoned out of town in the off-season.

But questions have been answered with a 2-1 start, which has included a huge rebound by QB Jared Goff, WR Cooper Kupp and the L.A. offense. The unit ranks No. 6 in scoring and No. 3 in yards gained. The team has scored 30-plus twice in three games.

DT Aaron Donald and the defense struggled holding down Josh Allen and the Bills but had no issues vs. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot in a 20-17 win over the Cowboys. Suffice it to say, the New York Giants have no such weapons. New York ranks 31st out of 32 teams in scoring and in yards gained. Only the across-the-hall Jets are worse. Giants scoring has dwindled from 16 points, to 13, to just 9, in three losses.

New York’s defense has done what it can, and it can at least keep the Rams under 30 on Sunday. But the Giants may not get to 14 — a number they have hit just once so far.

This spread (-13) is massive, but for Survivor Pool purposes, the Rams check all the boxes in Week 4.

Other Week 4 contenders:

Baltimore Ravens: They are angry and ready to get back to business after Monday night’s beatdown at the hands of the Chiefs. Poor Washington stands in the way. We can find other effective spots in the schedule to use Lamar Jackson and Co., however.

Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense are averaging an NFL-high 40.7 ppg. What will that number be after 60 minutes against the horrid Falcons defense?
