XFL Betting Odds for Week 2 & 3 Picks to Consider Backing
From a betting and viewing standpoint, the XFL had a rousing Week 1.
The revamped football league took a pro-gambling approach to things and it paid off. FanDuel noted it took in “20 times more wagers” in the opening XFL game than it did the first game of the failed Alliance of American Football.
“We are embracing the spread from the start,” said Jeffrey Pollack, the league’s president and chief operating officer. “This is a core business strategy for the XFL.”
With such positive reaction for the league, betting is expected to increase in Week 2. Bookies.com senior handicapper Adam Thompson – who hit on an astonishing 64.4% of his best bets for the 2019 NFL season – has revealed his three best bets for Week 2 of the XFL season.

Tampa Bay Vipers at Seattle Dragons
Pick: Vipers -2.5
Many experts saw the Tampa Bay Vipers as the team to beat in the XFL heading into Week 1. It didn’t take long to throw that idea out the window, as they were drubbed 23-3 by the New York Guardians. Look for a huge comeback against a Seattle team that was expected to be near the bottom of the XFL barrel and didn’t disappoint in its own double-figures loss.
Dallas Renegades at Los Angeles Wildcats
Pick: Renegades -3.5
Neither offense did much of anything in Week 1, but Dallas gets QB Landry Jones for his season debut this weekend. Meanwhile, L.A. gave up a league-most 37 points in Week 1, then fired its defensive coordinator after just one game. Dallas’ defense allowed just 15 points. It gets QB Josh Johnson for his first game, too, but Jones is expected to be one of the XFL stars and the Renegades’ defense appears far better at this stage.
St. Louis BattleHawks at Houston Roughnecks
Pick: Over 48.5
Coach June Jones and the run-and-shoot Roughnecks are going to take some getting used to playing against. The BattleHawks, meanwhile, passed for 183 yards and ran for 191 more and might be just as challenging to stop. Look for points to be scored in Houston’s home opener.
