The PGA Tour returns to one of its former stomping grounds this week with the Zozo Championship at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California.

Golf bettors have another juicy leaderboard to wager on this week as Tiger Woods defends his 2019 Zozo title. Woods won last year’s event in Japan to tie Sam Snead with 82 all-time PGA Tour victories. That’s where he remains after an up-and-down season, and the timing couldn’t be better with the rescheduled Masters just around the corner in November.

Woods is listed at +3300 in the latest Zozo Championship betting odds, well behind other big names atop the board. Dustin Johnson is out for the second consecutive week due to coronavirus, making Jon Rahm the favorite at +1000.

Xander Schauffele is next at +1100 while Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas are next in line at +1200 to round out the top four contenders.

Tiger Woods Top-10 Finish (+280)

This is the first of two upcoming title defenses for Woods, and it comes at a course where he’s had a ridiculous amount of success. Woods has five wins and five runner-ups in previous limited-field tournaments at Sherwood as the course hosts its first Tour event since 2013.

It’s a precision course where iron play is a must, and Woods has fared far better at such tracks lately as opposed to brawnier setups like Bethpage Black and Winged Foot. The field is too strong to consider a win here, but we wouldn’t be surprised if he pops up as a contender at a familiar track. Bet on it with BetMGM.

Patrick Reed (-118) Over Daniel Berger

Reed’s irons were dialed in throughout a T-13 finish at last month’s U.S. Open, during which he couldn’t find a fairway but still beat out most of the field while giving up a major distance advantage of the tee. This course should be right up his alley and the putter has been solid lately.

We expect a big week from Reed and give him the advantage over Berger in this matchup. Get the best odds with Unibet.

Justin Thomas (-115) Over Rory McIlroy

Thomas led the Tour in Strokes Gained Approach last season and remained locked in with a T-8 at the U.S. Open and T-12 at last week’s CJ Cup. McIlroy is in good form as well, largely because he’s been pounding it off the tee averaging 333.4 yards his last two starts.

The big stick won’t come in handy quite as much this week and Thomas has the slight advantage as an irons player. Due to the demands of this course, we’re rolling with Thomas at -115 with FanDuel.

Yes, There Will Be A Hole-In-One (+150)

These odds are a little longer than usual because it’s a smaller field this week, with only 78 players in the field compared to the usual around 156. But that doesn’t mean there will only be half as many chances at an ace.

At a standard course with four par-3 holes and a 156-player field, there will be roughly 1,508 opportunities for an ace assuming no one drops out and 65 players make the cut. But this is a no-cut event and Sherwood’s layout actually includes five par-3 holes, meaning there will be approximately 1,560 chances at an ace. All this is to say, we’re on the ace prop at +150 with DraftKings.

Adam Scott (-110) over Tommy Fleetwood

Scott actually has more distance than Fleetwood these days, and he’s been more precise with the irons over the past year or so. Fleetwood has looked out of sorts lately with a missed cut at the U.S. Open and a T-59 last week at the CJ Cup. We’re going with the veteran here and taking Scott -110 with DraftKings.
