It wasn’t the opening match that either team wanted, although Arsenal didn’t fare too well against West Ham at the beginning of last season and Arsene Wenger will now be wary of a repeat.

The Gunners have kept their powder largely dry during the summer months, with Granit Xhaka the notable arrival to the Emirates Stadium and the sturdy midfielder will surely add some much-needed steel to the midfield department.

Liverpool have acquired Sadio Mane from Southampton and he’s sure to play a big part for what is Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge at Anfield.

Klopp will be looking for a Premier League title victory and with no European distractions, there is every chance that his team can be in the mix this time around.

There were hints last season that when Liverpool get things bang on, they can look like world-beaters, with Daniel Sturridge hoping to remain injury-free for the majority of the campaign, while Klopp will hope that Brazilian pair Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino can make a big impact as part of an attacking trident.

The two teams drew both matches last season, with an eventful goalless draw taking place at the Emirates before a 3-3 draw later in the season at Anfield.

Considering neither side will want to lose this opening game, then the draw looks like the sensible bet which gives you all manner of options, including a bore draw and the possibility of something more higher-scoring.
