It’s been a good while since Tottenham were trading this short to win away to Arsenal, although that is testament to the work Mauricio Pochettino has done at a football club previously used to playing second fiddle to the Gunners.

Spurs are now considered a better side of the pair and their recent Champions League exploits against Real Madrid makes the argument that they are among the better sides in Europe.

Which brings us to Saturday lunchtime’s clash at the Emirates when the international break is over. Pochettino ensured that Dele Alli, Harry Winks and Harry Kane wouldn’t be burdened with England duty, which should mean the trio are fresh for this clash.

Tottenham have been pretty comprehensive at home this season. They’ve won four times on the road and their defeat at Old Trafford was a 1-0 reverse which could have gone either way, with Alli missing a good chance before Anthony Martial scored.

Previously to this, Everton, West Ham and Huddersfield were brushed aside, with Spurs managing to score at least three goals in each of those games.

The problem for Arsenal is how they approach this match. They can’t park the bus in a north London derby and it’s a tactic that has rarely been employed by Arsene Wenger in all the years he has been manager.

The Gunners are 5-0-0 at home this season although Leicester, Bournemouth, West Brom, Brighton and Swansea were modest opponents and this represents a tougher assignment.

Presumably, Wenger will recall Alexandre Lacazette for this clash although the problem lies in shoehorning the Frenchman into the same team as Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

It doesn’t look as though there is great team spirit within the team, with six players receiving a yellow card in the recent 3-1 reverse at Manchester City and they were regularly cut open in that clash.

Quite simply, Tottenham are a better football team these days and we’ll go with the visitors to complete the power shift.
