It hasn’t taken long for Steve Bruce to find a new club, with the former Birmingham City manager having just taken charge at Villa Park and it seems that the majority of supporters are happy to have him on board.

The Villans have accrued just ten points from eleven matches in the Championship so far, with Roberto Di Matteo given the heave-ho as a result although Bruce will be optimistic that a top-six spot is still within reach.

Ten points is not a big gap to bridge over the course of a season, with Bruce hoping for the dream start on Saturday evening although they face an unpredictable Wolves team who have already beaten some of the better sides this term.

Walter Zenga’s team scored a 2-0 victory at Newcastle and a 3-1 win at Birmingham. Their two away defeats have come by a single goal and they’ll be making the short journey aiming to collect three points from this match.

While the Villa supporters will be out in force to welcome their new manager, Wanderers will also bring a few thousand for the first clash between these sides since the 2012/13 season. On that occasion, the teams played out a goalless draw at Villa Park.

Bruce inherits a squad of players capable of mounting a serious promotion challenge this term. Jordan Ayew, Jonathan Kodjia, Ross McCormack and Rudy Gestede can cause maximum damage at this level, while the new manager will be expected to get the best from the talented Jack Grealish.

However, Rome wasn’t built in a day and the prices are ridiculous when you consider Villa have only won a single match at home all season. The rest all finished in a draw and we’re happy to bet on this one finishing all square rather than back the home or away side for the win.
