Betting Tip: Worthy Award @ 6/1 with bet365

Summer jumping returns to Worcester on Thursday afternoon with an eight-race card getting underway at 1.50pm.

Five of the eight races are sponsored by Bookies.com including the feature 2m7f handicap chase (2.20pm), which has attracted a field of eight and is appropriately titled the Worcester Betting Tips At bookies.com Handicap Chase. You’ll be expecting a tip then and, while none of the runners can be ruled out with total confidence (excuses, excuses), I’m siding with the lightly-raced WORTHY AWARD, who represents the trainer/jockey combination of Jonjo O’Neill and Richie McLernon.

A winning point-to-pointer, the seven-year-old has had just the two starts over fences and ran well on both occasions, finishing second at Southwell on his debut (might have won for a bad mistake three out) and third at Exeter last time. With the handicapper dropping him a 1lb and the extra three furlongs he has to travel this afternoon likely to suit, he should again run his race and, hopefully, reward support at the 6/1 on offer at bet365.
