Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich have been sweeping aside domestic teams with ease this season, and have grabbed an exhilarating 21 goals in their past four league games.

Drawing a blank against Shakhtar Donetsk in the first leg of the two teams’ Champions League duel, then, was somewhat of a surprise and rude awakening for Pep Guardiola’s guys.

Now Bayern will battle the Miners on home turf, where the hosts are unbeaten across all competitions this campaign, and Bet365 are offering excellent odds of 3/1 for majestic Munich to score four or more.

The German juggernaut should have Shakhtar on the back foot from the beginning, and will need to be potent in front of home fans to make amends for their previous continental clash.

Key to Bayern’s ability to prise open the Ukrainian club’s backline is the irrepressible Arjen Robben. The flying Dutchman just seems to improve with age and, as top scorer for the Bundesliga champions, is a best market price of 6/1 with Coral to score two or more.

Thomas Muller also continues to be the man for all occasions and, despite being deployed in a myriad of positions, has still struck 15 times in all competitions. The Germany goal machine is available at 7/2 with William Hill to be Bayern’s goal hero again and break the deadlock to net first.

Meanwhile, Poland poacher Robert Lewandowski may have been prolific for Bayern this season, striking 14 times so far, but still has it all to prove. The talented frontman must prove that he can adapt to Guardiola’s style of play, and is 4/1 with SkyBet to showcase his skills against Shakhtar by bagging a brace or better.

Guardiola has experimented with several attacking formations of late, in an attempt to fit his abundance of attacking options into the starting XI, a problem most tacticians would love to have.

Should the Miners prove stubborn at the Allianz Arena, the Catalan coach has the option to chance Sebastian Schweingsteiger alone as a holding midfielder again. With the likes of Lewandowski, Muller, Robben, Franck Ribery and Mario Gotze potentially all off the leash, expect a goal fest.
