After Germany exited the 2018 World Cup on Wednesday, many expected Brazil to potentially follow them out of the competition, although Tite’s men controlled their final Group E clash against Serbia and duly won 2-0.

The South American side look top notch, especially with Philippe Coutinho pulling the strings in midfield and it looks as though the team rely heavily on the former Liverpool playmaker.

Neymar is clearly a talented operator although it’s also worth noting that the only goal that Brazil have conceded thus far was a controversial header against Switzerland which was protested against.

Clean sheets have been recorded fairly comfortably against Costa Rica and Serbia, with Mexico having to find a way past their opponents to avoid their usual fate of going out at the last sixteen stage.

El Tri always seem to be the bridesmaids in these type of World Cup matches and they will have been dismayed by losing to Sweden by a 3-0 scoreline which means they now face Brazil rather than Switzerland.

The central American side have a rotten record against these opponents despite landing a goalless draw against them at the group stage four years ago and we don’t think this will change here.

Brazil are quite short to win the game but 11/8 looks a touch on the “win to nil” market and a 3-0 triumph could be the order of the day.

Mexico shipped four goals during the group stage and that 1-0 win over Germany might have been more down to the latter’s shortcomings.
