Brazil are the most successful nation in the history of world football. However, the current team is a pale imitation of the sides who have won World Cups and produced exciting brands of football throughout the decades.

The Selecao were fairly ordinary even before Neymar’s act of idiocy saw him red-carded against the Colombians and a four-match ban means that his Copa America adventure is over. Now his team-mates have to pick up the pieces and this quarter final clash against Paraguay doesn’t look straightforward.

Brazil needed a late winner to beat Peru and they only just beat Venezuela in their final Group C game which means they have to be opposed against a better grade of opposition and Paraguay certainly fall into that category.

The Paraguayans are unbeaten in the 2015 Copa and claimed an unlikely 2-2 draw with Argentina before beating Jamaica and then drawing 1-1 with Uruguay. Neither of their draws against supposedly better teams were a fluke and Los Guaranies will be full of confidence they can upset the applecart here.

Lucas Barrios has forced his way into the first-team and must surely be retained for this match, with no Neymar for the outsiders to worry about and Dunga must now hope that Robinho and Roberto Firminho can produce the goals to keep the Copa dream alive.

We’re happy to get with Paraguay on the handicap market and that means a draw or better will be enough to get over the line with this bet. Brazilian central midfielders Fernandinho and Elias are little more than holding players and there’s too much reliance on Chelsea’s Willian and Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho to make things happen.
