Does the league table lie after sixteen games? Probably not and Bromley could well be a permanent fixture in the top five of the National League this season.

The Ravens were a Conference South team last term, narrowly claiming the title and they are now mounting a promotion tilt to become a Football League team, with Saturday’s 5-0 thrashing of Barrow an illustration of where they are right now.

Bromley have won eight of their previous nine games, with a 4-0 tonking at Tranmere the only blot on the copy book, with the Kent side having been slow out of the traps earlier in the season but now in full flow.

Cheltenham are a strong team who will surely offer more resistance to Barrow, although Gary Johnson’s side have only won three of their eight away matches this term so it’s questionable whether they deserve to be favourites.

The visitors have lost just one match on the road this term, with the last two games seeing the Robins draw 1-1 with Braintree and away to Gateshead.

However, it does appear that the bookies are overplaying their chances in this game and we’re happy to get with a Bromley side who have the deadliest striker in Moses Emmanuel.
