It was a typical Burnley performance at Pittodrie last week, with Sean Dyche’s team coming from a goal down to land a draw against Aberdeen and it puts the English side in the driving seat for this Europa League tie.

The Clarets are massive favourites to win the game, with their opponents needing to score at Turf Moor to avoid an early exit and we think that Burnley have the defensive capability to shut them out.

Nick Pope’s injury sustained in Scotland means that Tom Heaton is likely to line up between the sticks and the one-time England international should prove a safe pair of hands behind James Tarkowski and Ben Mee.

Interestingly, you can get odds-against about a Clarets win without conceding, with Aberdeen having to contend without the scoring prowess of Adam Rooney who has made a surprise switch to Salford City.

Aberdeen were only able to score against the Premier League side from the penalty spot when Gary Mackay-Steven converted and there’s a doubt whether many meaningful chances will be created by the visitors.

Chris Wood and Sam Vokes both might get the nod for this encounter, with these strikers likely to cause problems for the Dons and we should see Burnley go through to the next qualifying round.
