Watford started the season with a draw and two defeats, although their home reverses against Chelsea and Arsenal saw the Hornets produce plenty of attacking and inventive football.

Therefore, we probably shouldn’t have been surprised that the results came against West Ham and Manchester United, even if the media described the latter as something approaching a shock.

Walter Mazzarri is getting a tune out of his Watford squad, with Monday’s trip to Turf Moor likely to see them continue racking up the wins as the season gets going.

Troy Deeney is starting to get among the goals and illustrate why Leicester were keen to sign the burly striker, while Odion Ighalo is an able strike partner and Etienne Capoue has been reinvented from a defensive midfielder into an attacking one.

Plenty to therefore like about the visitors who tackle a Burnley side full of endeavour although it’s looking like a similar tale to two seasons ago.

The 2-0 win over Liverpool was something of a freak occurrence and the Clarets were left counting the cost of Robert Snodgrass’ late equaliser a fortnight ago to deny them another maximum haul.

The other home match the Lancashire side have played saw them lose 1-0 at home to Swansea and it’s hard to see how they might contain the vibrant Hornets.

Andre Gray has found the net just once thus far and certainly needs a goal to boost his confidence, with Sean Dyche likely to operate with Sam Vokes in tandem after the Welshman was consigned to the bench last time out.
