Apparently Liverpool “can’t win the title” this season according to the experts.

The Reds don’t have a strong enough defence and Jurgen Klopp will need a lot longer to build a team capable of winning domestic honours.

However, that’s conveniently forgetting Leicester City’s miracle triumph last term which saw the Foxes win the league with Danny Simpson at right-back. Not to mention Robert Huth and Wes Morgan at the back. Both players have the turning circle of a juggernaut and that was in evidence at Anfield last weekend.

Liverpool pasted the Foxes in that match and could have scored more than the four put past Kasper Schmeichel. Joel Matip is looking the real deal at centre-half, Henderson and Wijnaldum are working well in defensive midfield tandem and then we have the show-stopping group of four attacking players.

Sadio Mane has become an instant fan favourite, although Adam Lallana is more astute with the ball and Roberto Firmino arguably more clinical in front of goal. Daniel Sturridge is a pacy striker building up confidence, with Philippe Coutinho looking for a way back into the team after international duty.

Therefore, things look promising for this Liverpool team when they head to Stamford Bridge, especially as they wiped the floor with Tottenham at White Hart Lane only to land a single point.

Chelsea are no mugs and have ten points from their three opening matches although they only convinced at home to Burnley and the Clarets are clearly one of the weaker teams in the division.

Diego Costa is getting among the goals and could be a handful for Matip, Dejan Lovren or Lucas Leiva, although John Terry is missing and that means we might see David Luiz give his best “bambi on ice” impression against Liverpool’s blistering attack.

The Reds won this fixture 3-1 last season as Klopp was starting to get going at Anfield and there is little reason for suggesting anything other than an away win in this game.

The way in which Liverpool are starting to move the ball at pace is very exciting and we’re happy to get with them at a big price.
