It was a case of Deja Vu when both of these sides were drawn together for a second successive season in the Champions League, Chelsea progressing in last year’s competition after going down 3-1 in the first leg but storming back to win the home leg 2-0, Demba Ba scoring the aggregate winner in the 87th minute.

The Blues are in a much better position than last season and are very much in the driving seat following a 1-1 draw in Paris last month. Branislav Ivanovic opened the scoring for Mourinho’s side, however PSG levelled the scores and it is all to play for at the Bridge tonight.

The bookies are confident of Chelsea securing a place in the last eight of the competition and as such, the Blues start this match as firm favourites, Bet365 offering 23/20 for a Chelsea win in ninety minutes and Boylesports offering 1/2 for the West London side to qualify.

With Chelsea dropping just four points at home so far this season, we can’t think of any reason why they can’t be backed with a high degree of confidence to win this match, especially since all the big guns are certain to be on show.

Indeed, with just five victories from their last fourteen away games, PSG are far from their best away from home and as such, we believe that they will pose Chelsea few problems tonight.

We’re not suggesting that the hosts will have it all their own way however. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani in the ranks, PSG will be confident of getting themselves onto the scoresheet, however the partisan home support will be in fine voice at Stamford Bridge and they should be cheering their heroes into the quarter-finals of the Champions League at the final whistle.
