Chelsea are Premier League champions, an outcome that rarely looked in doubt since the Blues won at Turf Moor back in August. Jose Mourinho’s side have kept the opposition at arm length from an early juncture and to win the league with something to spare deserves enormous credit.

Now Chelsea will look to end the season with a string of wins and an impressive margin of victory, starting with Liverpool’s arrival on Sunday with the visitors still chasing a Champions League spot thanks to Manchester United slipping up in recent weeks.

Brendan Rodgers might consider this a good time for his team to be heading to Stamford Bridge, although it’s hard to have faith in the Merseyside team who have generally fallen short against the better teams in the land this term.

Liverpool gave Chelsea a match at Stamford Bridge earlier in the campaign when the sides met in the Capital One Cup. A goalless draw saw the tie go to extra-time before Branislav Ivanovic’s extra-time winner, although that was when the Reds were enjoying better form.

Chelsea should win this match if they are at their best, having waxed and waned before beating Crystal Palace last weekend. Fourteen wins and three draws at the Bridge in the Premier League suggests that Mourinho will not want the team to be beaten at home before the season finishes.

Eden Hazard is a magician with the ball and the Player of the Year will want to turn on the style against a Liverpool side who have been badly short of firepower for much of the season. Daniel Sturridge remains sidelined and Raheem Sterling has not worked out in an attacking position.

Therefore, we’re happy to back the champions to win at tasty odds and also think a win to nil for the Blues could work out nicely, with John Terry continuing to be immense in the heart of the defence.
