Betting Tip: @ Colombia to win @ 8/11 with bet365

It’s always hard to know exactly how the early matches are going to play out, although Japan’s chances of doing well have been seemingly reduced by an appalling display from Saudi Arabia in the World Cup curtain-raiser.

Considering that the Blue Samurai only finished a point ahead of the Green Falcons in qualifying, it’s possible that we might see them soundly beaten in this opener against a Colombia side who are trading at a backable price.

Bet365 currently hold 8/11 and we might see these odds shorten as we get closer to kick-off, with the South American side possessing some quality players including James Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao.

Yerry Mina and Davinson Sanchez also look like a young central defensive pairing with lots of mileage, with Japan looking fairly modest by comparison.

There is a wealth of experience within the Japanese ranks, although there were several friendly defeats in the run-up to the World Cup, with Ukraine, Ghana and Switzerland all able to profit against their Asian opponents.

Shinji Okazaki will run himself into the ground, while Keisuke Honda and Shinji Kagawa bring quality in midfield but we can’t escape the feeling that this will be plain sailing for Colombia based on how poor the Saudis were in that opener.
