Derby might have been the big spenders in the Championship this summer, although that doesn’t mean they should be 11/10 shots to claim victory in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Monday night.

The Rams have experienced a slow start to the campaign, drawing their first four matches before losing at home to Leeds. Since then, they have picked up valuable victories at Preston and Reading although the performances have still not been convincing.

Bradley Johnson and Jacob Butterfield were late acquisitions at the iPro Stadium, with both straight into the first team, with Paul Clement hoping that the Rams can make it a hat-trick of wins and break their duck at home.

However, Burnley are a force to be reckoned with in the Championship right now. Sean Dyche is once again proving himself to be a canny manager, having already guided the Clarets to the Premier League on a shoestring budget.

The Lancashire side sit fourth in the table and with an opportunity to climb above Hull City, with odds of 11/4 way too big about a visiting side who will be aware that Derby are under big pressure to start racking up wins on home ground.

Andre Gray is a formidable striker at this level, with several players left over from last season’s spirited Premier League campaign. Four straight wins are not to be sniffed at, with Derby still trying to gel as a relatively new team and we have to have a small bet on the visitors.
