Betting Tip: Adam Lallana - England vs Wales @ 9/1 with bet365

Gareth Bale has stoked up the fires ahead of Thursday’s clash by claiming that the Wales team have a stronger team spirit than their opponents, with the Real Madrid star scoring a free-kick against Slovakia.

Roy Hodgson and Wayne Rooney have reacted diplomatically to these comments, with England looking to bounce back from a 1-1 draw against Russia which saw the Three Lions dominate proceedings only to be stung at the end of the clash.

The pressure is now on for this match, with Roy Hodgson tempted into fielding Jamie Vardy instead of Raheem Sterling, although it appears likely that Adam Lallana will continue operating as part of the attack.

The Liverpool midfielder performed well against Russia and got himself into some good scoring positions, with his First Goalscorer odds standing out considering that the Wales defence didn’t look watertight against Slovakia.

Indeed, the Slovaks were slightly unfortunate to lose against the Welsh and looked to be in the ascendancy when equalising, with England likely to fashion plenty of chances against their fellow Home Nation side.

Wales have this game as a shot to nothing after winning their opener and a draw would effectively qualify them for the last sixteen, with Chris Coleman encouraged by the overall performance.

Coleman will hope that Bale can wreak havoc and execute his set pieces to deadly effect, with Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen operating in tandem through the midfield to good effect.

So while the sum of Wales’ parts is much less than England, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the Three Lions will run in a few goals and any kind of victory will be a huge welcome and relief for Hodgson.

We’ll stick with our Lallana bet and expect England to come out on top over the ninety minutes.
