Spurs can continue winning habit

Spurs are nicely ensconced in the top four of the Premier League after a first half of the season which has seen them accumulate 35 points from 19 matches.

Mauricio Pochettino has made his team difficult to beat, with Tottenham having lost just once since that opening game defeat at Old Trafford and they come into this match off the back of three straight wins.

Therefore, we have to side with Spurs for this trip to Merseyside to face an Everton team who often promise so much but currently sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Talk of a top six finish seems fanciful while the Toffees continue to ship goals at such a rapid rate, with a 4-3 home reverse against Stoke a case in hand and Roberto Martinez’s team seem a touch naïve in their approach.

19 goals conceded in ten home matches is a lot, with Spurs having shipped just eight in their nine away games and we quite like the look of the visitors not only winning the game but also keeping a clean sheet.

Spurs claimed a 2-1 win at Watford last time out, with Vertonghen and Alderweireld operating wonderfully in central defence, while Dele Alli has effectively played his way on to the England plane for Euro 2016.

There’s clearly an over-reliance on Harry Kane although Christian Eriksen and Nacer Chadli are looking for a first team recall and Tottenham should have enough to get over the line.
