Betting Tip: France -1.75 @ 1/1 with bet365

Friday night’s Euro 2016 curtain-raiser looked set to end in anti-climax as hosts France struggled to find a way past Romania, although Dimitri Payet had other ideas and his winner brought joy to the nation.

Payet should see plenty of the ball against an Albania side who are missing the suspended Lorik Cana and their captain is a key member of the squad whose presence was essential when the team qualified for the finals.

France produced some attractive passing moves in their opener despite the fact that Romania had their fair share of chances, with Antoine Griezmann twice coming close to scoring and Olivier Giroud finding the net with the opening goal.

Paul Pogba should improve as the tournament wears on, with Payet the man capable of causing damage from set pieces and open play, with France potentially set to crush their opponents in this game.

Albania have little to gain from sitting deep and hoping to weather the French attacks, with the hosts sure to find spaces, while Adil Rami will hope to build a partnership with Laurent Koscielny at the back.

We’re happy to have a pop on France to win by at least two clear goals, with Hugo Lloris capable of snuffing out their opponents.
